Description:

We are seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee the life cycle of the project in conjunction with the lead Business Project Manager. Scope of work requires a PM with focus on IT in order to facilitate transition of information and, eventually, function from legacy application to new application. Delay in filling this position will lead to significant delay of project deliverables and failure in meeting deliverable timelines. These delays may cause the department to lose critical federal funding due to non-compliance with requirements.

Duties:
• Must have experience working within state and/or federal projects using Agile methodology.
• Will need to show a strong track record of success in working with a large group of stakeholders to provide results.
• Must have experience managing IT projects and be proficient with the use of project documentation and tasking tools (i.e. JIRA, MS Project, etc.).
• Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
• This position will be working directly with the lead project manager and will be facilitating and/or participating in all areas of project planning of implementation
• Working with stakeholders to ensure common understanding of priorities, strategies, and timelines for all elements of the implementation.
• Facilitating regular and ad-hoc meetings/workshops to ensure that members of the project team can report status and be given up-to-date information and direction regarding project priorities, strategies, and timelines.
• Ensuring all IT-level project documentation is complete and up-to-date
• Ensuring all IT policies are acknowledged and adhered to for implementation
• Ensuring all issues and risks found during the project are immediately reported to the IT manager, lead project manager, and stakeholders as needed.
• Ensuring all requirements for reporting project status, action items, risks, and issues sufficiently meets the needs of project stakeholders.

Required / Desired Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications. (Required 5 Years)
  • Proven experience writing RFPs, contracts, and/or grants. (Required 5 Years)
  • Accountable for the approval and sign-off of the project plan with customer representatives, such as portfolio managers, and all affected project stakeholders. (Required 5 Years)
  • Accountable for management of scope for the project and gaining agreement and approval of scope changes with customer representatives and affected stakeholders. (Required 5 Years)
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customer representatives. (Required 5 Years)
  • Direct work planning and scheduling work. (Required 5 Years)
  • Manage and track the project progress against the project plan. (Required 5 Years)
  • Coordinate and present proposals as necessary. (Required 5 Years)
  • Identify and manage project risk and develop risk mitigation strategies, track to closure. (Required 5 Years)
  • Anticipate issues and proactively address them. Resolve conflicts with sensitivity and tact. (Required 5 Years)
  • Responsible for project compliance with standards and procedures (Required 5 Years)
  • Develop and facilitate achievement of project service commitments and performance metrics. (Required 5 Years)
  • Ensure that tasks provide value and support the strategic direction of the project and meet service commitments; conduct reviews with departments. (Required 5 Years)
  • Accountable for the final project management evaluation review with stakeholders for approval upon project completion. (Required 5 Years)
  • Identify and track issues. (Required 5 Years)
