We are seeking a Data Warehouse Developer who consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.

• Develops database from project specifications and statement of problem and procedures to create or modify computer data base programs applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
• Knowledge and Skill sets include Oracle, DB2, Sybase, ADABAS, SQL Server, Informix, Linux, and decision support systems such as COGNOS, and BOA.
• Coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.
• Prepares or receives from Database Programmer Analyst flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved.
• Designing, implementing, conversion and validating the reengineering of the current organization and directory dimensions.
• In addition, this work may involve additional work associated with the staging of data for Tableau and Cognos reporting purposes.
• This initiative is critical for support of Tableau and Cognos reporting. We need a data warehousing expert that, can quickly ramp up on the environment, understands the work needed, can do the work, can communicate to others how to do the work, and support in the effort to independently support the organization and dimensions.
• We need explanations and documentation throughout. This includes any supporting tools, hardware and software configurations using best practices in all areas
• This position administratively reports to the Business Intelligence Supervisor
• The Contractor shall work closely and collaboratively with Department’s Business Intelligence Supervisor, Data Warehouse Manager, and Architect, to discuss suggestions or issues as they occur and incorporate suggestions or guidance from the Department while performing the work
• The Contractor shall coordinate and prioritize all work to ensure that all deliverables and deadlines are met.
• The Contractor shall employ an internal quality control process to ensure that all deliverables are complete, accurate, easy to understand, and of high quality.
• The Contractor shall provide deliverables that, at a minimum, are responsive to the specific requirements, organized into a logical order, contain no spelling or grammatical errors, formatted uniformly, and contain accurate information and correct calculations.
• Contractor shall submit each deliverable to the Department’s Project Manager (or designee) for review and approval.
• The Contractor shall retain all work papers generated for reference through the duration of the project and project acceptance.
• The Contractor shall participate in the review and revision process, until the Department provides written acceptance of the deliverable.
• The Contractor shall provide copies of any supporting documentation to the Department upon request of the Department and without charge.
• The Contractor shall respond to all telephone calls, voicemails and e-mail inquiries from the Department within one (1) business day.
• The Contractor shall enable all Contractor staff to exchange documents and electronic files with the Department staff in formats compatible with the Department’s systems by supplying a laptop. The Department currently uses Microsoft Office 2013 for PC and is migrating to Office 365.

Required / Desired Skills

  • Experience as an Informatica and PL/SQL developer working in an Oracle environment including (Required 8 Years)
  • Architecture and Design (Required 5 Years)
  • Data Modeling (Required 5 Years)
  • Data Warehouse Design (working knowledge of Star Schema, surrogate keys, primary and foreign key relationships, etc.) (Required 5 Years)
  • Developing new mappings, transformations, and workflows using Informatica (Required 5 Years)
  • Development experience with complex SQL queries. (Required 5 Years)
  • Experience with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Architecture (Required 5 Years)
  • Experience developing process diagrams, data flow diagrams, and spreadsheets with “data elements” mappings. (Required 5 Years)
  • Experience with Cognos and/or Tableau developer (Required 5 Years)
