We are seeking a Project Management Development Consultant to provide developmental oversight to the current Project Management Office organization to ensure the successful delivery of projects from initiation to completion. This consultant’s role will be to ensure that the PMO is capable of achieving its objectives. In addition, the major responsibility will be to act as a coach to the current project team to aid and assist with imparting project management best practices, implementing straightforward, practical recommendations while taking into account the project delivery maturity of the organization.

Major Responsibilities:
• Coach and mentor current team of Project Managers with a focus on project optimization and operational maturity.
o Facilitate coaching sessions to address team development & track project management competencies improvement.
o Provide recommendations in the form of walk-through scenarios, identify missed opportunities, suggested action plans.
o Assist project managers with implementing process on a project-by-project basis.
o Act as project understudy in order to assess risks impacting stakeholders and internal customers, as needed.
o Provide ongoing training and team building activities.
o Assist with team dynamics and culture assimilation.
o Help to broaden perspectives, develop and implement new ideas.
o Assess existing PM processes and making recommendations to improve their effectiveness.
o Assist current team with existing project deliverables and reporting requirements.
• Deliver an end to end assessment of projects for each project manager in an effort to improve the overall organization’s project delivery capability, at regular intervals.
• Identify, escalate any risks, issues, and concerns as relates to PM’s assigned initiatives.
• Devise and relay a mitigation plan related to any identified project needs to the leadership team and monitor their satisfaction and resolution.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required / Desired Skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) (Required 3 Years)
  • Demonstrated project management experience (waterfall and agile) involving projects with varying levels of complexity required. (Required 7 Years)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, project management, and presentation skills. (Required 7 Years)
  • Ability to work under pressure of time constraints and to handle multiple high priority projects simultaneously. (Required 7 Years)
  • Excellent organization and PC skills (Required 7 Years)
  • Recent Project Management experience (Required 7 Years)
