We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager / Scrum Master to support a major modernization initiative. This role involves driving project planning, risk mitigation, scheduling, cross-team coordination, and deliverable tracking for a new microservices architecture.

The position will initially focus primarily on traditional, structured project management before gradually assuming full Scrum Master responsibilities as Agile engineering teams mature. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in technical environments, collaborates smoothly with software engineers, and champions continuous improvements in process, communication, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
• Project Planning & Delivery: Develop and manage end-to-end project plans, integrated schedules, resource allocations, and delivery milestones.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead coordination across development, QA, cloud engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Tracking & Governance: Actively track and manage project progress, dependencies, risks, issues, scope, and costs; provide structured reporting and status updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
• Agile Coaching & Facilitation: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives as teams transition to structured Agile delivery.
• Backlog Management: Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to maintain backlog organization, clarity, and readiness.
• Work Tracking & Tooling: Monitor work items, sprint health, and delivery sequencing using Azure DevOps and Microsoft Planner Premium.
• Release Management: Coordinate release planning and sequencing across environments to ensure reliable, smooth software deployments.
• Process Optimization: Champion delivery workflows, standard operating procedures, documentation, and reporting practices across technical teams.

Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of technical project management experience guiding teams through both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Certifications: Active PMP (Project Management Professional) and CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certifications.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise modernization or cloud-related projects.
• Solid understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern delivery frameworks.
• Proven background collaborating closely with software development, QA, cloud, and systems architecture teams.
• Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps (Boards, work item tracking, and reporting) or comparable enterprise ALM platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Planner Premium (or similar project management tools), alongside advanced proficiency in Excel, Visio, and MS Office.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, verbal/written communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex technical deliverables with minimal supervision.
• 10+ years of project management experience within enterprise technical environments.
• Experience managing initiatives involving microservices architecture, API integrations, or containerized deployments.
• Documented track record of successfully implementing delivery process improvements and Agile maturity frameworks within engineering teams.
