***Work Schedule: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST)

We are seeking an experienced User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Business Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a critical health insurance platform transition. In this role, you will work closely with business partners, product staff, cross-functional technical teams, and external vendor partners to design, execute, and validate UAT activities across complex healthcare eligibility, enrollment, and marketplace operations.

You will act as a key SME in test design, execution, defect analysis, and continuous process improvement to ensure that system behavior aligns seamlessly with policy guidelines, operational workflows, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Requirements & Test Analysis: Review and analyze project requirements, user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria for clarity, completeness, and testability. Maintain and update the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
• UAT Planning & Strategy: Contribute to UAT test plans outlining scope, testing approach, environments, schedules, resources, and risk mitigations.
• Test Case Creation & Execution: Create, update, and maintain end-to-end UAT test cases, scenarios, test data, and test suites. Execute manual UAT test cases and document detailed results and validation evidence.
• Defect Management: Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and supporting documentation using Jira. Participate in defect triage, assess priority/severity, retest defects, and confirm resolutions.
• Cross-System Integration & Support: Perform and support integration testing across system interfaces, APIs, and services affecting health exchange operations. Support regression, exploratory, load, performance, security, and accessibility testing.
• Stakeholder & Team Support: Provide guidance, coaching, and SME support to business testers participating in UAT. Develop UAT documentation, templates, and best practices. Fully participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and present daily/weekly test metrics and updates to program leadership.

Required Qualifications & Domain Expertise
• UAT & Agile Expertise: Proven track record in UAT methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum frameworks. Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) Domain Knowledge:
- Deep functional understanding of Health Insurance Exchange operations (including State-Based Marketplaces).
- Strong knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) policy, including eligibility, enrollment, plan management, account transfers, redeterminations, and consumer assistance.
• Medicaid Integration: Advanced understanding of marketplace interactions with state Medicaid eligibility systems (including MAGI rules, account transfers, coordinated eligibility, and data exchange requirements).
• Policy to Test Translation: Demonstrated ability to convert healthcare policy, CMS guidance, and regulatory requirements into precise system rules, business logic, and test scenarios.
• Communication & Analysis: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management capabilities.

Preferred Skills
• Experience preparing and managing complex test datasets.
• Background or formal training in business analysis or broader QA disciplines.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework).

Working Conditions & Requirements
• 100% Remote Position: Candidates must provide their own computer/hardware, high-speed Internet connectivity, quiet home office, and phone. System access will be provided via secure VPN.
• US Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and reside within the US. Offshoring or foreign remote work is strictly prohibited.
• Background Check: Selected candidates will undergo a standard background verification process prior to start.
