We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst/ Developer with expertise in SQL and Python programming to help modernize the ETL processes for a reporting data mart. This work anticipates development and conversion of ETL pipelines, data tables and data processes and delivery of other code updates in the current on-premise environment, in which is currently ingesting ETL data from the data environment hosted in AWS cloud, but will also require continuity as staff is preparing for the future migration of the cloud Azure environment.

Background and scope of project:
• Programming, testing and delivering other programming enhancements or programming work items related to the architecture, dataflows, tables, views, queries, reports, and ETL logic
• Updating the claim data tables and reports used predominantly by the team for rate capitation analyses or to reflect updates in national coding standards
• Performing other coding improvements needed by the team users to improve analytical value and capabilities of the system data or to reflect changes in eligibility, enrollment, benefits, programs, beneficiary and claim administrative coding- these types of improvements have accumulated over time and have reached a point in which they require a focused project and dedicated resources.
• Extraction and analysis of company information, primarily financial, personal, expense, and revenue reports.
• Writing data collection and processing procedures.
• Ensuring that data is being correctly gathered, stored, and analyzed.
• Reporting data findings to management.
• Continually monitor data collection.
• Develop methodologies to improve data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, math, or data science.
• Hands-on knowledge of database tools SQL.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, and R. Excel, Agile, Data modeling, Data analytics, Data mining, Data visualization.
• Familiarity with analytical tools like SAS, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Pig that may assist businesses in developing a solid BI strategy

Tasks:
• Perform analysis of the data system as needed, which may include reviewing documentation and analyzing current the system/ environment, including data models, schemas and tables, data dictionaries, ETL’s, system and database management processes, data quality, security, queries, reporting environment.
• Work with the project team members (PM, BAs, DBAs, data analysts, architects), the management and the users to identify/ determine business/technical requirements.
• Gather and document detailed system, data and integration requirements for the system improvements (e.g. changes to ETL code, business rules, the tables, new or updated the claim code grouping categories, etc.)
• Design, develop and implement data pipelines using ETL processes and SQL tables that extract, transform, and load data into the data system/ datamart that helps the organization reach its strategic goals.
• Migrate existing ETL process built in legacy SAS coding to Microsoft Structured Query Language (“SQL”) stack and Python language/ stored procedures, by:
• Working with various program areas and business teams to make code as modular as possible.
• Reviewing and analyzing existing ETL SAS programming code to update to new SQL/ Python language/ procedures
• Developing new SQL stack / stored procedures programming code to create new ETL processes.
• Test, troubleshoot and implement the new ETL code in the the test and production environments.

Qualifications:
• SQL programming language
• Python programming language
• Advanced data analysis skills.
• Experience using Microsoft DevOps, GIT or other code management tools.
• SAS programming language
• Experience using Jupyter Notebooks
• Data Warehousing
• Good communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, math, or data science.
• Hands-on knowledge of database tools SQL.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, and R. Excel, Agile, Data modeling, Data analytics, Data mining, Data visualization.

Working Conditions:
• Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams. Interview times will reflect Pacific Standard Time.
• This position is approved for remote work.
• Remote onboarding will be required for the first day.
• (Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, Pacific Standard Time, except for State of Oregon holidays and business closures)
